FAQ

How does the campaign work?
Supporters make a donation and choose a child to support. Each donation becomes votes for that child. At the end of the campaign, a winner is selected through a random drawing.

How are votes calculated?
Each donation provides a set number of votes based on the donation level. Higher donation amounts receive more votes, increasing the child’s chances.
Donation | Entries
$10 - 10 entries
$25 - 35 entries
$50 - 100 entries
$100 - 250 entries
$250 - 750 entries

How is the winner selected?
All votes are combined, and a winner is selected through a random drawing. All valid entries have an equal chance of being selected, and children with more votes have a higher chance of being chosen.

Why is the winner chosen randomly?
The random drawing ensures fairness while still allowing the community to support children they care about. More votes increase a child’s chances, but every child has an opportunity to be selected.

When will the winner be announced?
The winner will be selected and announced shortly after the campaign ends. The exact date will be listed on the campaign page.

Do I choose which child my donation supports?
Yes. You can select the child you want to support, and your donation will count as votes for that child.

Can I donate more than once?
Yes. You can donate as many times as you’d like, and each donation adds more votes for the child you support.

What does the winning child receive?
The selected child will receive a custom adaptive bike tailored to their specific needs.

What happens to the donations?
All donations support Project Mobility’s mission to provide the freedom of mobility to children with disabilities through adaptive cycling.

Are donations tax-deductible?
Yes, Project Mobility is a 501c3 nonprofit organization, and donations may be tax-deductible. Please consult your tax advisor for details.

Is there a free way to enter?
Yes. No donation is required to enter. Individuals may request one (1) free entry through the Alternative Method of Entry Form. See official rules. Providing a free entry option ensures the campaign complies with sweepstakes regulations.

Do free entries have the same chance of winning?
Yes. All entries, whether from donations or free entry, are treated equally in the random drawing.

How many children will receive bikes?
The number of bikes may increase based on total funds raised. Campaign milestones may unlock additional adaptive bikes.

What if the child I support is not selected?
While one child is selected through a random drawing, every donation supports Project Mobility’s mission to provide adaptive bikes and mobility opportunities to children with disabilities.
If a child receives strong community support but is not selected, we will work to help them receive a bike through future Project Mobility opportunities whenever possible.
No matter the outcome, your support helps us reach and impact more families in need.

Why are adaptive bikes so expensive?
Adaptive bikes are custom built and include specialized seating, supports, and modifications tailored to each child’s needs. Each bike is professionally fitted, often multiple times, by Hal Honeyman, founder of Project Mobility and the nation’s leading authority on adaptive cycling.
How do I nominate a child?
Families can submit a nomination through the nomination link (below) and fill out an online application. Those nominated will either be approved or denied based on Project Mobility Adaptive Bike Giveaway Guidelines.

Can I share a child’s page?
Yes. Each child has a shareable page that can be shared with friends and family to help gather support.
Do donations still count after $6,000 goal is reached?
Yes, absolutely. Every additional dollar:
-
Increases that child’s total number of entries
-
Helps move the overall fundraiser closer to unlocking additional bikes
How are additional bikes unlocked?
Additional bikes are unlocked based on total donations across all participants:
-
At $15,000, a second bike is unlocked
-
At $30,000, a third bike is unlocked
-
And so on...
Does reaching $6,000 guarantee a bike?
No. Bikes are awarded through a random drawing. Having more entries increases the chances of being selected, but does not guarantee a win.
What’s the most important thing to know?
There is no cap. Even after reaching $6,000, continued fundraising:
-
Increases chances in the drawing
-
Helps unlock more bikes
-
Expands the overall impact of the fundraiser
Can I get a refund on my donation?
Donations are non-refundable, as they support our nonprofit mission.
