How the Sweepstakes Works
How does the Adaptive Bike Giveaway Sweepstakes work?
Project Mobility's Adaptive Bike Giveaway Sweepstakes gives children with disabilities the opportunity to receive a custom adaptive bike while empowering family, friends, and communities to rally behind them through fundraising, awareness, and support.

Families begin by submitting an application. Once approved and assigned to an upcoming campaign, each child receives a personalized fundraising page to share with family, friends, coworkers, and their community. Supporters may donate to the child they choose, with every eligible donation earning entries according to the Official Entry Schedule.
At the end of the campaign, all qualified participants are entered into a certified random drawing where winner(s) are selected.

How are entries calculated?
Each donation receives a set number of entries based on the donation amount.

Higher donation amounts earn more entries, increasing that child's chances of being selected in the certified random drawing.

How is the winner selected?
At the conclusion of each campaign, all qualified entries are combined into a single pool.
​
Winner(s) are selected through a certified random drawing.
​
Every eligible entry has an equal chance of being selected. Children with more entries have greater odds because they have more entries included in the drawing.
​
Why is there a free way to enter?
No purchase or donation is necessary to enter.
​
Individuals may receive one (1) free entry through the Alternative Method of Entry described in the Official Rules.
​
Free entries and donation entries are treated equally during the certified random drawing.
​
When will the winner be announced?
The certified random drawing takes place immediately following the conclusion of each campaign.
​
Winner(s) are scheduled to be announced at 1:00 PM Central Time on the final day of the campaign.

Applying & Eligibility
How do I apply my child?
Families may submit an online application through the Apply page.
​
Applications are reviewed based on eligibility requirements, program guidelines, participant availability, and campaign scheduling.
​
Does applying guarantee my child will participate?
No.
​
Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance into an Adaptive Bike Giveaway Sweepstakes campaign.
​
Does being approved guarantee my child will receive an adaptive bike?
No.
​
Approval allows your child to participate in a future Adaptive Bike Giveaway Sweepstakes campaign but does not guarantee placement into the next available campaign.
​
Approved participants must raise at least $3,000 during the campaign period to qualify for the certified random drawing.
MEETING OR EXCEEDING THE FUNDRAISING GOAL QUALIFIES A PARTICIPANT FOR THE CERTIFIED RANDOM DRAWING BUT DOES NOT GUARANTEE RECEIPT OF AN ADAPTIVE BIKE.

How does the adaptive bike fitting work if I don't live near Illinois?
If approved, Project Mobility will work directly with your child's physical therapist or other qualified medical professional to obtain measurements and determine the most appropriate adaptive bike.
​
Please make sure your application includes accurate and up-to-date contact information for your child's physical therapist or other qualified medical professional, as this information will be used during the fitting process.
​
What happens if we cannot complete the required participation requirements?
Participants are expected to complete all participation requirements established by Project Mobility, including the adaptive bike fitting process, meeting required deadlines, and participating in the adaptive bike presentation or providing photographs and/or videos if residing outside Project Mobility's local service area.
​
Failure to meet participation requirements may result in removal from the campaign, disqualification from the certified random drawing, forfeiture of the adaptive bike, and/or ineligibility for future Project Mobility programs.

Fundraising
Do I have to raise the full $6,000 fundraising goal?
No.
​
Participants are only required to raise $3,000 during the campaign period to qualify for the certified random drawing.
​
Meeting or exceeding the $6,000 fundraising goal qualifies a participant for the certified random drawing but does not guarantee receipt of an adaptive bike.
​
What happens if I don't raise $3,000?
Participants who do not raise at least $3,000 during the campaign period will not qualify for that campaign's certified random drawing.
​
Project Mobility reserves the right to make reasonable exceptions in extraordinary circumstances as outlined in the Official Rules.
​
Why is there a minimum fundraising requirement?
Adaptive bikes are highly specialized pieces of equipment that often cost thousands of dollars to purchase, customize, and professionally fit.
​
The fundraising requirement helps offset a portion of those costs while supporting Project Mobility's mission of providing adaptive bikes, adaptive equipment, inclusive programs, educational initiatives, events, and other mobility opportunities that create freedom, independence, and joy for individuals with disabilities.

Can I continue fundraising after reaching $6,000?
Yes.

Every additional donation:

Earns additional entries for your child's campaign.

Increases your child's chances in the certified random drawing.

Helps unlock additional adaptive bikes for the campaign.

Supports Project Mobility's mission.
How are additional bikes unlocked?
Additional adaptive bikes are unlocked based on total campaign fundraising.
Every $15,000 raised unlocks another adaptive bike.
As fundraising grows, additional bikes may continue to be unlocked throughout the campaign.

Can Project Mobility change a participant’s fundraising goal during the Sweepstakes?
Yes. Project Mobility reserves the right to modify, increase, decrease, or otherwise adjust individual fundraising goals at any time during the Sweepstakes based on campaign performance, program needs, or other circumstances.

What happens to donations and entries if a fundraising goal changes?
Any eligible donations and entries received before the goal is adjusted will remain valid and continue to count toward the Sweepstakes.
Donations
Can I donate more than once?
Yes.
​
You may donate as many times as you'd like. Every eligible donation earns entries according to the Official Entry Schedule.

Do I choose which child my donation supports?
Yes.
​
You choose which child's campaign your donation supports.
​
What happens to my donation?
All donations remain with Project Mobility regardless of the outcome of the certified random drawing.

Donations support Project Mobility's mission by funding adaptive bikes, adaptive equipment, inclusive programs, educational initiatives, events, and other mobility services that create freedom, independence, and joy for individuals with disabilities.
Are donations refundable?
No.

All donations are final and are not refundable.
Are donations tax deductible?
Project Mobility is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Donations may be tax deductible. Please consult your tax advisor.
Community Champions
What is a Community Champion?
Community Champions are participants who raise at least 125% of the campaign fundraising goal during the Adaptive Bike Giveaway Sweepstakes.
​
Community Champion recognition celebrates extraordinary fundraising while helping expand adaptive cycling opportunities for even more individuals with disabilities.
​
What is Community Champion Priority?
If a Community Champion is not selected through the certified random drawing, the highest fundraiser receives Community Champion Priority and the next available fully funded adaptive bike through Project Mobility.
​
Community Champion Priority is a separate recognition program administered by Project Mobility and is not part of the certified random drawing.
Adaptive Bikes
What does the winner receive?
Winner(s) receive a custom adaptive bike professionally fitted to meet their individual needs.
​
How will my child receive their adaptive bike?
Participants residing within Project Mobility's local service area will receive their adaptive bike during an in-person presentation designated by Project Mobility.
​
Participants residing outside Project Mobility's local service area may receive their adaptive bike through an in-person presentation, professional delivery, shipment, or another method determined by Project Mobility based on participant location, manufacturer requirements, and logistical considerations.

How many adaptive bikes are awarded?
The number of adaptive bikes awarded depends on total campaign fundraising.
​
Additional adaptive bikes may be unlocked as fundraising milestones are reached.
Why are adaptive bikes so expensive?
Adaptive bikes are custom-built and often include specialized seating, supports, positioning systems, and other modifications designed specifically for each rider.
​
Each adaptive bike is professionally evaluated, fitted, and customized to safely meet the rider's individual needs.
​
Manufacturing, customization, and delivery timelines vary depending on the adaptive bike manufacturer and the participant's specific equipment needs.
​
Modification of Fundraising Goals
Project Mobility reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify, increase, decrease, or otherwise adjust individual fundraising goals at any time during the Sweepstakes. Fundraising goals are established to support the mission and objectives of the Adaptive Bike Giveaway Sweepstakes and may be adjusted based on campaign performance, program needs, or other circumstances determined by Project Mobility.
Unless otherwise expressly stated in these Official Rules, a change to a participant’s fundraising goal does not affect donations or entries already received. All eligible donations and entries received prior to any adjustment will remain valid and continue to count toward the Sweepstakes.
