Meet Mya!

4 years old

Diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy

Mya was born at 24 weeks gestational age, which classifies her as a Micro-preemie. She was nominated for an adaptive bike by her pediatric speech pathologist who says Mya started life with “the most memorable sass” that is still with her to this day. Mya spent 5 ½ months in the NICU, and since then has participated in PT, OT, and Speech for feeding and language, as well as Developmental and Vision therapies. Mya was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy when she was just one, has a G-tube, and continues to endure hospitalizations for BPD, laryngomalacia, colitis, adductor myotomes, and iliopsoas lengthening procedures. Through it all, her therapist says that Mya remains the sassiest and most fashionable 4-year-old you could ever meet. She is thriving at preschool wearing pink glasses and a big smile.

Mya has two older brothers who adore her and who are looking forward to biking with her when she gets her adaptive bike.
