Riley is 10 years old, and she is doing something amazing this year for Christmas. This is the letter her mom sent us.
My husband's birthday was October 31, and while we were researching bicycles for a gift, we saw an unbelievable video about how the owner of a St. Charles bike store made special modified bikes for kids with cerebral palsy. These bikes cost about $3500. The video moved Riley so much that she wrote a letter to everyone on our Christmas list and asked them to help her raise the money to give a child one of these bikes.
I have attached her letter - complete with little kid grammar and misspelled words. It is beautiful. At this point, she has raised $4830! She can buy one bike for sure, and most of a second bike. The owner of the bike store has a list of kids with physical disabilities who would very much like one of these modified bikes, but cannot afford one.
Riley is surprising the kid(s) and their families with the new bikes on Christmas Eve - she plans to show up at their house wearing a Santa hat to deliver the bike.
